Pulled Pork Recipe Slow Cooker

The aroma and taste of the pork is simply irresistible. That's why slow cooker pulled pork recipe is so famous among the non-vegetarian population on the world. Even though it takes a lot of time to cook the pork, the end result is well worth the wait.

So what is slow cooker?? It is for all practical purposes a cooker, only that it takes longer than the usual cooker to cook food. Then temperature inside the cooker is maintained relatively low, hence the longer time for cooking. As mentioned above though, the final product more than makes up for the time lost. Firstly have four pounds of pork cut into four pieces. In the slow cooker add the small pieces of onion which has already been cut along with a quarter cup each of brown sugar, mashed tomato and vinegar. Also add half a cup of ketchup (tomato) and any other sauce of your choice. Stir so as to mix the contents well.

Add the pork pieces to the cooker and turn them so that they are fully covered with the sauce mixture. Cover the cooker with a lid and cook it for about ten minutes in low heat. By now the meat should have become soft and tender (if not then reheat for another two to three minutes).

Now transfer the meat onto a bowl with the help of tongs and keep it aside. Change the heat settings to high and boil the sauce mixture. Boiling has to be done until the sauce becomes nice and thick. When the volume of sauce becomes half, shred small pieces of the pork into the cooker. You may use forks for holding the pork pieces when doing this.

Once this is, done close the lid again and cook for about half an hour with constant stirring.

The pulled pork is now done and can be served sandwiches or burgers with hot sauce as toppings. Salt and pepper may also be provided for additional taste. Since this taste varies for each individual, they are usually served separately and not added while preparing the pulled pork. This is only one variety of pulled pork. At first, we must know what is a ‘Slow Cooker' and what is its function? It is a cooking utensil mainly used to boil meats. In the United States, people also call it ‘Crock pot'. Generally, the recipes of pork are prepared by using this cooker. It tastes delicious when the pork is cooked in this utensil rather than the others. But, the negative point of the slow cooker is that, it takes a long time to cook. The time consumption may be approximately from 8 to 10 hours. The temperature is well maintained while cooking in the cooker. The temperature is set to low to make the meat well tendered. So, we've got the idea about the slow cooker. Ingredients:

  • Pork Shoulder (4 lbs)
  • Onions (medium sized, qty - 2)
  • Chopped onion (1 cup)
  • Barbecue Sauce (1 bottle)
  • Water (1 ½ cup)
  • Salt (according to the taste)

Procedure:

Take a slow cooker and heat it on the low temperature. Then add water, onions and pork respectively into it. Put on the cooker lid and let the ingredients mix well for 8 to 9 hours. After the time is over, unlid the cooker and drain out the water. Now, shred the meat and drop the fat. After that, pour the pieces into the cooker with the rest of the ingredients. Now, cook the mixture for 5 hours. Take the meat and decorate the dish for a well presentation.

The second one is called Pulled Pork Recipe Slow Cooker.

Ingredients:

  • Pork shoulder (4 lbs)
  • Onion (medium, qty - 1)
  • Yellow mustard (2 tablespoon)
  • Brown sugar, tomato ketchup, vinegar (1/4 cup)
  • Sauce (2 tablespoon)
  • Sweet Paprika (2 tablespoon)
  • Salt (according to the taste)

Procedure:

Take the slow cooker and pour onion, yellow mustard, sauce, vinegar, paprika into it and mix it well. The n pour the pieces of pork shoulder and let it be mixed with the sauce. In a low temperature, cook the mixture well and wait for 10 minutes. Separate the tendered meat and increase the heat temperature. Now, allow the rest of the mixture to boil. After it is boiled properly, add the meat pieces. Spend 30 minutes to cook it up. Serve it with Sandwich breads.
